Valentine's Day at Lincoln School
February 14 is quickly approaching and of course, things this year will continue to be a little different. Our plan is to hold off on the candy and packaged Valentines, and below are details for the week.
During the week of February 14 - 17, our Positivity Project (P2) activities will be focused on "Love." Love means that you value close relationships with others and being close to people. The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships.
The 3rd grade classes will have activities and lessons in their morning meetings that will take the place of the traditional card exchange. We will still be having class parties with a game and a craft, just not exchanging valentines. No need to send anything in from home, we will handle it all in-house.
If you want to look ahead at family activities and connections for that week, remember you can access the P2 for Families at https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/ The password is P2.
Parent Teacher Conferences
The half days that we have this week are for elementary conferences. We are required to meet with our bottom 30 percent of students. I will be sending out emails with a link to a signup genius for those parents that I would like to meet with. However, if you don’t receive an email, but have concerns, please don’t hesitate to send me an email.
Pizza Multiplication
We have been working very hard at learning many different strategies for solving multiplication problems. We are continuing to work memorizing their multiplication 1-10 facts. For each multiplication level they pass, students will add another piece to make a whole pizza on their recording sheet. Our pizza party will be on January 28th, we will be having the party after our morning recess. Please have your child continue working on their facts at home. Learning their multiplication facts will be key to their success in math.
