  3rd Grade News Week 18 January 17th - 21st Monday, January 17th - PE, Martin Luther King Jr. Day - No School Tuesday, January 18th - Music, Finish NWEA Testing Wednesday, January 19th - LATE START Thursday, January 20th - Library/Media Center Friday, January 21st - Art, Snow-shoeing Important Dates Late Start - January 19th Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, NO SCHOOL - January 17th  3rd Grade Snow-shoeing at Sarrett - January 21st ½ Days - January 27th & 28th   Snow-shoeing at Sarrett We will be traveling by bus to Sarrett Nature Center on Friday Morning this week. Please make sure your child has a winter coat, snow pants, waterproof gloves, and a hat. If any parent wants to join us, you are more than welcome. You will just need to drive yourself, and meet us there at 9:30am. We will be testing in the morning on Tuesday-Friday. We are giving two days for each test, this way kids will have plenty of time to finish, and not get too overwhelmed. Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break.  I enjoyed spending time with my family and had a fun time with my children.  Even though I enjoyed having time off, I'm ready and excited to get back to school.  The end of the second trimester is March 4th.  Your child should continue reading nightly as part of their homework. Like any other skill, reading proficiency comes from practice and encouragement.  Thank you for encouraging your child to read nightly!  The end of the second trimester means the year is more than half
