Welcome Back!
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break. I enjoyed spending time with my family and had a fun time with my children. Even though I enjoyed having time off, I'm ready and excited to get back to school. The end of the second trimester is March 4th. Your child should continue reading nightly as part of their homework. Like any other skill, reading proficiency comes from practice and encouragement. Thank you for encouraging your child to read nightly! The end of the second trimester means the year is more than halfway over! I look forward to continuing to watch your child learn and grow.
New Year! New Goals!
We are so excited to be starting 2022 with your child! This week we will be talking about some goals for this new year. Chat with your child about some academic goals, and some at home goals that they may have for this year!
3rd Grade Swimming
As part of their physical education class, our 3rd graders will be heading to the high school pool next week. Please look for the information letter and permission slip coming home this Monday. Please return the permission slip by this Friday, January 7th.
Pizza Multiplication
We have been working very hard at learning many different strategies for solving multiplication problems. We are continuing to work memorizing their multiplication 1-10 facts. This week we will be starting a fun incentive to learn our multiplication facts. Students will be working to earn a pizza party. For each multiplication level they pass, students will add another piece to make a whole pizza. Our pizza party will be on January 28th. Please have your child continue working on their facts at home. Learning their multiplication facts will be key to their success in math.
Positivity Project Character Strength : Optimism
This week’s positivity project trait is optimism. Optimism means you expect the best from the future and work hard to achieve it.
