Behaviors/Kindness

As the end of the school year approaches we are struggling as a class to really be nice to one another. We have spent time doing class meetings and discussing behaviors that are appropriate and inappropriate at school. I have had many one on one conversations with students about behavior as well. We will be working this week on kindness lessons, and truly reminding them of the golden rule that "if you have nothing nice to say, then don't say it at all." Thank you for your support in this, and also speaking with your child. I want to have a good end of the year, and I know we can!

Track Meet

The John Hall Elementary Track meet will be held on Friday, May 6th, at St. Joseph High School at 11:30.  The meet will last until 2:00. All third, fourth, and fifth grade students will participate in four events.  Third graders do a standing long jump, a 60 M dash, a running long jump, and a 100 M dash.  In addition, each class from all three schools will compete in a 400 M relay race.  Mr. Pfahler has selected four boys and four girls who will represent our classroom by running in this event.  We’d love to have you join us at the track meet if you are able!

Multiplication/Division Facts

Please have your child begin reviewing their multiplication and division facts. We will be testing on multiplication and division facts, and end the year with an ice cream celebration to celebrate their hard work. All kids will receive the same amount of ice cream.

Technology Festival

The Ren Baldwin Technology Festival will be held on Friday, May 6th from 6-7:30 at the St. Joseph High School. Come see the many ways our students use technology in the classroom.

Spring Weather

As temperatures begin to warm up, please remind your child that they will need a coat for recess if the temperature has not reached 60 degrees.  If they are playing and get warm, they are asked to tie their coat around their waist.

Testing Continues this Week!

We will begin NWEA math testing on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.  Please be sure your child’s computer is fully charged the night before.  In addition, please ensure they get plenty of rest and a good breakfast the morning of the test.  Students have as much time as they need to take this test.  Anyone that still needs to complete their test will finish on Thursday. Here are the dates for the remainder of our testing sessions.  Please try to avoid absences or appointments on these days:
